Ethics Working Group

This working group is designed to ensure that our students, staff, and faculty all conduct themselves in an ethical manner. In our online educational environment, there are significantly lower barriers to academic dishonesty amongst students; therefore, we must count upon a combination of clearly defined and enforced standards of honesty and integrity along with a belief that any students who partake in our educational project are hopefully motivated by the higher ideals of learning rather than simply getting a diploma (colloquially: ticket-punching). Similarly, we must ensure that staff and faculty who develop course materials respect the intellectual property of others and function in their role as volunteers without any possible conflicts of interest (though it's hard to imagine right now just what such conflicts may be).
